Terms of Service

These terms apply to the Carillio app, this website and the administration console, all operated by Ravinaro (“we”). By creating an account you accept them.

Your account

An account is tied to a verified phone number and to the devices you sign in on. You are responsible for the devices that hold your keys: because we cannot decrypt your messages, we cannot recover their contents for you if you lose every device.

You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough in your country to agree to these terms.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Carillio to:

• send unsolicited bulk messages, or impersonate a person or an organization;
• distribute malware, or attack the service or the people using it;
• share material that is illegal where you are or where the recipient is, including material that sexually exploits children;
• harass, threaten or defraud other people;
• circumvent rate limits, seat counts or access controls.

We act on reports we receive. Because we cannot read messages, enforcement rests on reports, on account metadata and on behavioural signals — never on message content. We may limit or close an account that breaks these rules.

Organizations

Whoever creates an organization is its administrator and accepts these terms on its behalf. Administrators manage members, roles, seats, verified domains and policy. Administrators cannot read members’ messages or calls, and no setting anywhere grants that ability.

An organization’s policy — retention, guest access, external messaging — applies to activity inside that organization. Members are told which organizations they belong to.

Plans and payment

• Personal use is free.
• An organization with 5 members or fewer is free.
• Beyond that, seats cost $6 per seat per month or $60 per seat per year, billed through Stripe. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax we are required to add.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel any time; the organization keeps its seats until the end of the period already paid for.
• If a payment fails there is a 14 day grace period before seats above the free limit stop working. Nothing is deleted during grace.
• Payments are not refundable except where the law requires it.

Verified badges

A verified badge means we checked evidence that an organization controls a domain or is a registered business. It is not an endorsement, and we may remove it if the evidence stops holding.

Availability

We work to keep Carillio running but we do not promise uninterrupted service. We may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue the service entirely we will give reasonable notice so you can export what you need.

Your content

What you send stays yours. You grant us only the permission technically necessary to store and transmit it in encrypted form so it reaches the people you sent it to. We claim no other rights, and we cannot read it in any case.

Liability

Carillio is provided “as is” to the fullest extent the law permits. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Ending the agreement

You may delete your account at any time from inside the app. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and will say why unless the law prevents us.
